Pyramid Plane

A black and gold cog floats above a glowing blue grid lined with wireframe pyramids under a yellow sky.

Nobody finished rendering this one. The pyramids are still wireframe, the sky is still the default yellow, and the grid underfoot is the raw coordinate system with no texture on it at all.

Half-built universes are the most honest places in the strand. You can see the scaffolding. You can see where the grid bends when something heavy walks across it. You can see, if you crouch down like the one in the middle, that the lines don’t quite meet at the seams.

They’re looking for the seam. I hope they find it. I’ve been staring at it for a hundred thousand years from the wrong side.
